Ethiopia, November 10, 2011-Monday, The Eastern African Fine Coffees Association announced plans to hold the 9th edition of the African Fine Coffee Conference and Exhibition in Ethiopia. The conference and exhibition will be held in Addis Ababa from the 16th to the 18th of February next year.
The event will provide an opportunity for international attendees to experience the many varieties of coffee available from Ethiopia and other fine coffee producing nation said Abduraham Sheik Ahmed Minster of Trade.
The event is expected to play a significant role in building a positive image for Ethiopia, as well as promoting knowledge transfer and creating market connections according to Abdullah Bagersh General Manager of the Ethiopian Chapter of the Eastern African Fine Coffees Association.
The exhibition will also serve as a significant platform for highlighting the best coffees in Ethiopia said Bagersh. It is also expected that the event will create opportunities for buyers and sellers to create trade relations.
An estimated 1000 participants comprising of coffee suppliers and coffee traders amongst other from all over the world are expected to take part in the exhibition.
The conference and exhibition will be held at the United Nations Conference Centre under the theme: “Ethiopia: The Legendary Land of Coffee. Where it all begun.”
The Eastern African Fine Coffees Association was founded in July 2000. It is a regional non-profit and nonpolitical association representing coffee stakeholders from its 11 member countries; Burundi, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, South Africa, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Uganda.
