The US Congressional Caucus on Ethiopia and Ethiopian Americans has expressed its condolences on the untimely and sudden death of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi. Michael Honda, Co-chair of the Caucus said “Meles Zenawi’s commitment to Ethiopia was unwavering in spirit and practice. His role in promoting peace and security in the region and developing the economy of Ethiopia was unparalleled”. He reaffirmed the readiness of the Caucus to work with the Ethiopian Government “to ensure stability, equality and justice in the bright futures of both Ethiopia and the broader Horn of Africa, while also lending support to Ethiopian-Americans during this time of transition.”
