Egypt Air launches Cairo-Addis daily flight
Addis Ababa, November 1, 2011 (WIC) – Following the new phase of relationship between the Egypt and Ethiopia, Egypt Air launched its Cairo-Addis Ababa daily flight on the 31st of October 2011.
In a launching ceremony held at the Sheraton Hotel on the Monday, the area manager of Egypt Air Mr. Maged Michel said that in recognizant to the bilateral relations between the two countries Egypt Air has begun daily Cairo-Adis flight.
According to the area manager, in 1995Egypt Air started its flight to Addis Ababa once a week, which rose to two flights in 2001, four in 2008 and five in 2009. The recent radical transformation in Egypt has also some reflections on the bilateral relationship between the two countries, Mr. Maged said, adding that the Egyptian prime Minister visited Addis Ababa in April 2011, which was reciprocated by the Ethiopian Prime Minister’s visit on September 2011.According to the area manager, the daily connectivity will further cement the new bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and Egypt. Ambassador Mohamed Edris, Egyptian Ambassador in Ethiopia, on his part said that the daily flight of Egypt Air from Cairo to Addis Ababa could enhance the entire connectivity of Egypt and Ethiopia. He also said that it could further boost the economic, social and political ties of the two sisterly countries. According to the Ambassador, the daily flight could also play a significant role in strengthening the new phase of people to people and government to government relationship.(waltainfo.com)
